Additional Info:	Shannon Randall lives and works in the Fredericton area where he grew up and receives his inspiration. After receiving a certificate of Communication Design from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, Shannon returned to further expand his creative horizons with the Diploma of Fine Craft in Photography. In the last year Shannon received two arts award scholarships, the ArtsNB and the NBCC Foundation awards, as well having works published in the winter 2010 and fall 2011 issues of PhotoEd magazine. Graphic elements of bold colour, creative use of lighting and composition are the focus for much of Shannon’s work. Creating surreal painterly like landscapes and glowing portrait images is some of the work he does. Contrasts between light and dark and symbolism is always a key factor in Shannon’s work where meaning is conveyed to the viewer with the aesthetic use of tone and composition to create an atmospheric mood within a composite image or photo. Currently Shannon continues to explore the fields of portrait, documentary, fine art photograph and design working professionally with the government of Canada and independently as a freelancer.
